Interactive writing career

Is there a career out there for me in Interactive writing? I plan on going that rout. When writing for video games, often it is an interactive experience. You collaborate with programmers and designers, designers, project managers; it’s a very interactive experience. Having any computer knowledge is great and needed. Oh by the way, good bye everyone! Farewell.

Chapter 15

Programing is a big mystery to me so this chapter meant a lot to me. As a writer, designer, or a conceptualist, it's key to know what program your programmers are going to use, what are its strong points and weaknesses. What can a particular program (like flash)can accomplish easily and well, and what are the programs limits. Like i said i really have no clue when it comes to that kind of thing so I'm thinking of taking some Python classes next semester to at least get acquainted to the basics of programing.

Chap 15

Chapter 15 was interesting. Didn't enjoy going over E-Learning again though. Just not very applicable to my likes, but who knows, maybe I'll use it in the future. One thing that really stood out to me in this chapter was the writers and developers roll. currently in my newly formed, small game company, I'm both! So reading about responsibilities along with the expected challenges I'll face was great. Gave me ideas of how to face those challenges.

Chapter 11

This chapter was a bit technical. There were a few things that i didn't previously know how to do. One thing i hadn't thought about before was the fact that today, our websites are more customizable than ever before. This is good because people like to personalize things and make unique content for there page. The chapter was only a few pages long, but i did glean some usable info from it.

blog on chapter 10

Chapter 10 gave me a lot of applicable insight on website layout and effective keywording. My buddy that I’m making the game company “Bluegg” with needs to see this chapter. I highlighted a lot in the Keyword paragraph. I knew having good keywords was important, but just didn’t know how to make them work for me. This chapter gave me some focus on the subject.

The other thing I got from the chapter was the list in what to have on your web page layout. I can’t list the items now because I’m at school without my textbook, but I know I highlighted that list to use later and show it to Leighton.

I read over both chapters 7 & 8 this morning and found a lot of useful information in regards to the web site we're working on. I used some of the layout/introductory info in my proposal assignment that's due Friday. Lot's of stuff we've done in this class already has inspired me to take projects outside of the class and test principles I've learned in the real world. I think that is a means of measuring a class's worth. If a class motivates you to take its principles and incorporate them in your life outside of college, then it's a success. I've started a small partnership project from principles learned here already and it's only the fourth week.

post for week 3

So the first two chapters were pretty easy to understand and take in. The third and fourth chapters were a bit more complex and new to me. In chapter four, they talked about the web site production team. There are a lot of members in this team, and thought they explained each roll well, it’s somewhat ambiguous as to where the writer comes in on all of this. At times they were saying “We’re just giving you this information so you know who your co-workers are in a big process like this” but at other times they were saying “learn some, or all, of these other job areas so you can have more versatility in where you work and who you work with. Chapter four left me thinking about if I should focus on any other skill talked about in this chapter.
